KIN by Totem Sub 8 200 watt 8" Subwoofer
Overview
A room that's short on space shouldn't have to go without real bass. The KIN Sub 8 fits an 8" driver and a dedicated amplifier into one of the more compact subwoofer cabinets in the KIN lineup, so a smaller room or tighter equipment stand can still get genuine low-end.
The KIN Sub 8 is a powered subwoofer built around a reinforced 8" fiberglass woofer with a Butyl rubber surround, driven by a 200-watt Class D amplifier in a slotted (ported) enclosure. It covers a 29Hz-200Hz range, with a variable crossover (40Hz-120Hz, -24dB) and variable phase (0-180°) control on the back panel for dialing it into a room.
It connects through stereo RCA or LFE inputs, and the amplifier can be set to Auto or always-On. It's available in Satin Black or Satin White to match different rooms, and ships with a magnetic grille, power cord, and self-adhesive feet.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
The Sub 8's compact slotted cabinet is one of the easier subwoofers to tuck into a media console or tight equipment closet without losing meaningful bass output, which comes up often in condo installs where floor space near the front speakers is limited.

Why the KIN Sub 8 Stands Out
Reinforced 8" Fiberglass Woofer
A reinforced fiberglass cone with a Butyl rubber surround is built for accurate excursion and consistent bass output.
200-Watt Class D Amplifier
A dedicated Class D amplifier is matched to the driver for controlled, musical bass rather than loose, boomy output.
Compact Slotted Cabinet
A slotted, ported enclosure keeps the footprint small while still supporting real low-frequency output.
Extremely Low 29Hz Extension
Reaches down to 29Hz, giving genuine low-end weight for a subwoofer this size.
Variable Crossover and Phase Controls
Rear-panel crossover and phase controls let it integrate cleanly with a range of main speakers.
Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- The Small-Room Listener: a compact slotted cabinet that still reaches down to 29Hz.
- The Home Theatre Builder: adds impactful low end to a KIN speaker or soundbar-based system.
- The Budget-Conscious Upgrader: real bass performance in a smaller, more affordable package than the Sub 10.
How It Compares
Compared to the larger KIN Sub 10, the Sub 8 uses a smaller 8" driver and a 200-watt amplifier in a slotted, ported enclosure rather than the Sub 10's sealed design — trading some outright bass control for a smaller footprint and a lower price. The Sub 10 also offers direct wireless pairing with a KIN Play Soundbar, a feature not listed for the Sub 8.
