Pro-Ject Audio Record Puck E

Overview

The Pro-Ject Record Puck E is a lightweight stabilizing weight that secures a playing record against the turntable platter. That firmer contact between record and platter improves timing and depth of sound, and it helps a slightly warped record sit flatter during playback.

At 190g, it's built specifically for smaller turntables, light enough that it won't put undue stress on the turntable's bearing or introduce extra rumble the way a heavier puck could. A felt pad on the underside protects your record label while it's in use.

It's available in two finishes, black painted or polished silver, both designed to match the look of Pro-Ject's turntables. One installation note: total spindle height with a record in place shouldn't exceed 10.5mm.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Because it works by adding weight rather than clamping the spindle, the Record Puck E is best matched to turntables built for it. If you're using a lighter or more compact deck, check your spindle height against the 10.5mm limit before adding a record on top of the puck.

Why the Record Puck E Stands Out

Purpose-Built Lightweight Design

At 190g, it adds stabilizing mass without overloading a smaller turntable's bearing.

Firmer Record-to-Platter Contact

Improves the coupling between record and platter for better timing and depth of sound.

Felt-Protected Underside

A felt pad on the bottom protects your record label during use.

Helps Warped Records Play Flatter

The added mass helps a slightly warped record sit more consistently against the platter.

Two Finish Options

Available in black painted or polished silver to match Pro-Ject's turntable lineup.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • Compact Turntable Owners: Sized and weighted specifically for smaller decks, including Pro-Ject's Debut and Carbon series.
  • Listeners Chasing Tighter Timing and Depth: For anyone who wants firmer coupling between record and platter.
  • Collectors with Slightly Warped Records: Helps an imperfect pressing sit more consistently during play.

How It Compares

Pro-Ject's Record Puck (Classic) uses a heavier 800g brass design meant for high-mass platter turntables like the RPM, Signature, and Xtension series. The Record Puck E is purpose-built for smaller, lighter turntables, at 190g, so it won't stress a bearing that isn't designed to carry extra platter weight.
