Overview
Small desktop speakers usually mean picking between decent sound and something that doesn't look out of place next to a monitor. Kanto built the UKI around not making that trade-off.
The UKI is a bi-amplified desktop speaker pair driven by a Class D amplifier rated at 100 watts peak (50 watts RMS total) through 3-inch paper cone woofers and ¾-inch silk dome tweeters — 9 watts RMS to each tweeter and 16 watts RMS to each woofer. USB-C handles digital audio up to 16-bit/48kHz from a computer, Bluetooth 5.3 covers wireless devices, and an RCA input takes care of turntables with a built-in preamp or other analog sources.
A front-mounted dial handles volume, input selection, and power in one control, with a 3.5mm headphone jack right next to it for private listening. An automatic 100Hz crossover redirects bass to a subwoofer the moment one's connected, and the cabinet is injection-molded from partially recycled material, giving each pair its own subtly flecked texture.
