Overview
The Kanto SUB8 is a sealed powered subwoofer with an 8-inch woofer and a 150 W RMS (300 W peak) Class D amplifier. It adds weight, texture and impact to music and movies, reaching down to 35 Hz from a compact, considered cabinet. It's for anyone pairing powered or passive speakers who wants deeper bass without a large subwoofer taking over the room.
The sealed cabinet delivers a controlled response that keeps bass notes distinct and rhythms clear. Kanto rates the frequency response at 35 Hz to 175 Hz, and an adjustable low-pass filter and phase control help the SUB8 blend with your main speakers and suit your room.
Rigid MDF construction, rubber feet and a metal grille provide a sturdy home for the driver, finished in a durable matte laminate in black or white. It connects with a single RCA L/R line-level input, and the cabinet measures 11 x 11 x 11.9 inches.

Start with the SUB8's low-pass filter set close to where your main speakers start to roll off, then flip the phase control while sitting in your usual spot and keep whichever setting sounds fuller. Kanto speakers with a subwoofer output, like the ORA and REN, handle the crossover for you automatically, so in that case set the SUB8's filter at its highest setting and let the speakers do the work. Try a few positions along the front wall before settling, since bass changes noticeably with placement.
