Overview
The FiiO KA11 (Lightning) is an ultra-compact dongle DAC and headphone amplifier that plugs into iPhones and iPads with a Lightning port and gives you a 3.5mm headphone jack with better sound than a basic adapter. It's for anyone who wants an easy, pocketable way to use wired headphones or IEMs with better sound, without carrying a bigger portable amp.
Inside, a DAC and op-amp, a high-precision crystal oscillator and an independent power supply sit on an immersion-gold circuit board, and the KA11 is Hi-Res Audio certified. It plays up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD256, and a small light shows what's playing: blue for 48kHz and below, yellow for higher sample rates and green for DSD. FiiO describes it as smaller than the KA1 it replaces, with more power.
The cable uses high-purity oxygen-free palladium-plated copper wrapped in silicone and braided cloth, and the aluminum-magnesium alloy body has been tested to 5,000 plug-in cycles. On Android, the FiiO Control app lets you set the light and choose digital filters. It measures about 44.5 x 9.7 x 10.5mm and weighs about 8.5g. It doesn't support in-line remotes or microphones.

Check the port on your device before ordering: this listing is the Lightning version, and the KA11 also comes in a USB-C version. The FiiO Control app only works on Android, so on an iPhone or iPad the KA11 runs plug-and-play with its default settings. Headsets with in-line mic and remote buttons will play music through it, but the mic and buttons won't work.
