FiiO JadeAudio Q11 DAC Headphone Amplifier
Overview
The FiiO JadeAudio Q11 is a portable, battery-powered USB DAC and headphone amplifier with 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced outputs. It plugs into a phone, tablet, computer or game console over USB-C and gives your headphones a cleaner, stronger signal than a typical built-in headphone output, without drawing on your phone's battery.
Inside is a Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC that handles PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD up to DSD256. The balanced 4.4mm output delivers up to 650mW into 32 ohms with an SNR of at least 125dB, and the 3.5mm output gives 165mW into 32 ohms with an SNR of at least 122dB, both with THD+N under 0.0006%. A high/low gain switch matches the output to your headphones, and FiiO recommends headphones from 16 to 150 ohms on the 3.5mm output and 16 to 300 ohms on the 4.4mm output.
A 2600mAh battery runs about 13 hours from the balanced output and 13.5 hours from the 3.5mm output, and recharges in under 2.5 hours. The volume knob doubles as the power switch, a light shows the sample rate (blue up to 48kHz, yellow above, green for DSD), and the 3.5mm jack can also act as a coaxial digital output. In UAC 1.0 mode, set in the FiiO Control app, it works with consoles like the Switch and PS5.

The Q11 is a good fit if you want more power than a small dongle without moving up to a large player. The battery means it won't drain your phone, and the 4.4mm output has enough power for many full-size headphones. Use low gain for sensitive in-ear monitors and high gain for harder-to-drive headphones. If you game on a Switch or PS5, switch it to UAC 1.0 mode in the FiiO Control app first.
