Overview
A CD collection deserves better than a decades-old player with a basic op-amp output stage and no way to send that sound anywhere except a wired headphone jack.
The FiiO DM15 R2R is a retro-styled portable CD player built around FiiO's own 4-channel, fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor-ladder DAC, using 192 precision thin-film resistors instead of a conventional delta-sigma chip. A Qualcomm QCC3095 Bluetooth platform transmits from either the CD transport or the USB DAC input with aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX, or SBC, and the USB input itself accepts PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD256 from a computer or phone.
A 4700mAh battery plays for about 7 hours continuously and supports PD2.0/PD3.0 fast charging for a roughly 2-hour full charge, while a 0.96-inch display shows track, battery, EQ, and Bluetooth status on the player's aluminum-and-glass body.
