Bowers & Wilkins DB3D Subwoofer - (Each)

Overview

The Bowers & Wilkins DB3D is a compact DB Series subwoofer. B&W says that despite its compact dimensions it delivers astonishingly powerful, controlled bass thanks to its twin 8-inch Aerofoil drivers, 1000W Class D Hypex amplifier, and digital signal processing.

Its two 200 mm Aerofoil cones sit back to back in a balanced configuration, which B&W says cancels out cabinet resonances so all that power goes into room-shaking bass, not wasted vibration. B&W calls it a space-saving, high-performance design that fits almost anywhere, and the perfect match for its 804 D4 and 805 D4 speakers.

An all-new digital preamplifier with Dynamic EQ and Room EQ keeps the sound precise for music and movies, and set-up runs through the B&W subwoofer app over Bluetooth LE, using your phone's microphone for Room EQ. Inputs include 2 XLR, 2 RCA, two 12V triggers, and RS-232. B&W rates it at 10Hz to 350Hz (-3dB).

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

The DB3D is a strong choice when floor space is tight, such as in a smaller media room, office, or bedroom system. It shares the 1000W amplifier and app-based Room EQ of the DB2D, and its RS-232 port and 12V triggers give a control system a way to manage it in a fully integrated install, which is the kind of system we design and install.
