Overview
The Bowers & Wilkins DB1D is the most powerful active subwoofer B&W has ever made, and B&W calls it the best Bowers & Wilkins subwoofer. It pairs a 2000W Class D Hypex amplifier with two 12-inch (300 mm) Aerofoil cone drivers in a balanced, back-to-back configuration.
The opposed drivers cancel out cabinet resonances, so B&W says all that power goes into room-shaking bass rather than wasted vibration, and its ultra-rigid, highly damped enclosure channels the energy into tightly controlled bass. The Aerofoil cones are derived from the 800 Series Diamond, and B&W describes the DB1D as a perfect partner for those speakers.
An all-new digital preamplifier with Dynamic EQ and Room EQ keeps the sound precise for music and movies, and set-up runs through the B&W subwoofer app over Bluetooth LE, using your phone's built-in microphone for Room EQ. Inputs include 2 XLR, 2 RCA, two 12V triggers, and RS-232. B&W rates it at 10Hz to 350Hz (-3dB).
