Overview
The Bowers & Wilkins 705 S3 Signature is a two-way stand-mount speaker that B&W says is expertly engineered to deliver sonic brilliance in a more compact form. It pairs a Decoupled Carbon Dome tweeter in a Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing with a 6.5-inch Continuum cone bass/midrange driver.
Building on the 705 S3, the Signature adds a refined mid-bass motor system, improved capacitors, revised speaker terminals, and a more open tweeter grille mesh, all developed for B&W's 800 Series Signature loudspeakers. The Carbon Dome tweeter, purpose-built for the 700 Series, raises the breakup threshold to 47kHz.
B&W rates the 705 S3 Signature at 50Hz to 28kHz (±3dB), with a -6dB range of 45Hz to 33kHz, 88dB sensitivity, and an 8-ohm nominal load, suited to amplifiers from 30W to 120W. Stands are sold separately.

B&W designed its 700 Series stand-mounts mainly for the FS-700 S3 floor stand, and recommends the tweeters sit at roughly ear height. A shelf works, with less flexibility; in that case fit the supplied foam plugs. The published acoustic specs match the standard 705 S3, so the Signature is about the component refinements.
