Audioquest Cinnamon USB A to B Digital Audio Cable

Overview

When a computer or streamer feeds a USB DAC, the USB cable carries every bit of the music, and AudioQuest builds its USB cables to reduce the jitter and distortion that can creep in along the way. The AudioQuest Cinnamon USB-A to B is a USB cable designed to transport digital audio as well as internet and computer data, with a USB-A plug for the computer and a USB-B plug for the DAC or other device.

It uses solid 1.25% silver-plated Long-Grain Copper conductors. AudioQuest explains that digital signals travel almost entirely on the surface of a conductor, so placing silver on the outside gives the greatest benefit, and solid conductors help eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground, nitrogen-injected Hard-Cell Foam insulation keeps the conductor geometry stable, and the signal conductors are direction-controlled, with arrows on the connectors showing which way to run the cable.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Follow the arrows on the plugs: AudioQuest marks them so the cable runs in the direction that best drains noise. Many USB DACs take a USB-B input, so check yours before ordering, and choose the shortest length that comfortably reaches.

Why the AudioQuest Cinnamon USB-A to B Stands Out

Solid 1.25% Silver Conductors

Silver-plated Long-Grain Copper, with silver on the surface where high-frequency digital signals travel, to reduce jitter and distortion.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

Hard-Cell Foam Insulation

Nitrogen-injected foam keeps signal-pair geometry stable for a consistent impedance and lower distortion.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

Signal conductors are controlled for digital audio direction, with arrows on the connectors.

USB-A to USB-B

Connects a computer or streamer's USB-A port to a DAC or other USB-B device, for audio and data.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • The Computer Audio Listener: Plays music from a laptop or desktop through a USB DAC.
  • The Streamer Owner: Connects a network streamer's USB output to an outboard DAC.
  • The Box-Cable Replacer: Wants something better than a generic printer-style USB cable.

How It Compares

AudioQuest offers USB-A to B cables at several levels, including Forest, Cinnamon, and Carbon. Cinnamon uses solid 1.25% silver-plated conductors with Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation and Hard-Cell Foam insulation.

Audioquest Cinnamon USB A to B Digital Audio Cable FAQs

What is the AudioQuest Cinnamon USB-A to B used for?

It connects a computer or streamer's USB-A port to a DAC or other USB-B device, carrying digital audio as well as internet and computer data.

What conductors does it use?

Solid 1.25% silver-plated Long-Grain Copper conductors, which AudioQuest says reduce jitter and distortion.

How does it handle noise?

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground, rather than draining it into the component's ground reference.

Does it matter which way I connect it?

Yes. The signal conductors are direction-controlled, and arrows on the connectors show the direction AudioQuest recommends.
