Pro-Ject High Power IT Grounded Power Supply for DC Turntables
Overview
Every turntable needs proper grounding, or it can pick up an audible hum caused by a difference in reference potential between the turntable and the amplifier. Most amplifiers with a ground terminal handle this automatically, but many modern amps built into soundbars or streaming speakers have no ground connection at all — what's called a "floating mass" system.
The Pro-Ject High Power IT is a three-pin power supply with a ground connection built specifically to solve that problem on Pro-Ject's 15V DC turntables. Beyond eliminating ground-related hum with floating-mass amplifiers, it also delivers cleaner current and more power than a stock power supply.
It's a simple swap: unplug the stock power supply, connect the High Power IT in its place, and plug it into a standard AC outlet.
