Getting music from a phone or a network share into a favourite DAC often means either running a laptop as a makeshift server or buying a full-size streaming platform loaded with features that go unused.

The FiiO SR11 is a compact streaming music receiver — a pure digital transport with no DAC or analog output of its own — built to pair with an external decoder. It pulls music over Wi-Fi or Gigabit Ethernet using Roon Ready and AirPlay, selectable individually or together in a combined MIX mode, and passes the digital signal out over optical, coaxial, or USB to whatever DAC is already in the system.

A firmware update adds Bluetooth reception, local file playback, DLNA casting, and FiiO LINK control through the FiiO Control app, extending its feature set without new hardware.
