Overview
The Bowers & Wilkins DB4S is a single-driver subwoofer in the DB Series, built around a 10-inch Aerofoil cone driver, the same cone technology used in the 800 Series Diamond speakers, powered by a 1000-watt Class D Hypex amplifier in a sealed enclosure. It's a compact, classically styled match for the 700 Series.
Because it's a closed-box design rather than a ported one, the DB4S favours tight, controlled bass over the higher maximum output of a vented cabinet, reaching down to 8.5Hz. A digital preamplifier with Dynamic EQ keeps the tonal balance consistent across volume levels, and setup runs through a dedicated Bowers & Wilkins app with Bluetooth Low Energy control.
On the back panel, dual XLR and RCA inputs, twin 12V triggers, and an RS-232 port let it wire into either a stereo system or a custom control setup, and it's available in Gloss Black, Satin White, or Rosenut to match a 700 Series pair.
