Overview
The Bowers & Wilkins 703 S3 is a three-way 700 Series floorstanding speaker that now features B&W's Tweeter-on-Top configuration for the first time. It combines a Decoupled Carbon Dome tweeter, a decoupled 6-inch Continuum cone FST midrange with Biomimetic Suspension, and two 6.5-inch Aerofoil Profile bass cones.
The Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing is milled from a single block of aluminium and decoupled from the cabinet, and the Carbon Dome raises the breakup threshold to 47kHz. Like every three-way 700 Series model, it uses a dedicated midrange that combines four B&W technologies: the Continuum cone, FST, Biomimetic Suspension, and midrange decoupling, which keeps interference from the bass drivers to a minimum.
B&W rates the 703 S3 at 46Hz to 28kHz (±3dB), with a range of 30Hz to 33kHz, 90dB sensitivity, and an 8-ohm nominal load, suited to amplifiers from 30W to 200W. Each speaker stands on a supplied plinth.

The 703 S3 gives you the 702 S3's Tweeter-on-Top and midrange in a tower with two bass cones and a shallower cabinet. If it has to sit close to a wall, B&W supplies a two-piece foam plug: the outer ring alone trims bass slightly, and the full plug trims it more. The terminals support bi-wiring or bi-amping once the links are removed.
