FiiO S15 All-in-One Network Audio Streamer and DAC
Overview
Building a serious streaming setup often means juggling a separate network transport, a DAC, and a preamp just to get from a music service to a pair of powered speakers or a full system.
The FiiO S15 is a full-size, all-in-one network audio streamer built around an AK4191 and AK4499EX DAC combination — the same architecture used in FiiO's Q15, K9 AKM, and M23 — paired with an XMOS XU316 USB receiver and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 running a custom Android 12 interface on a 7.84-inch touchscreen. It streams over Wi-Fi via AirPlay, DLNA/UPnP, and Roon (Roon Ready certification is in progress per FiiO), plays local files from its own 64GB of storage or a microSD/USB drive, and can serve as a USB DAC and preamp for a computer.
Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs sit alongside optical, coaxial, AES, and HDMI digital connections, so the S15 can feed powered speakers directly or pass a digital signal to an external DAC, amplifier, or AV system.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
FiiO's own spec sheet lists a 3.5mm port on the S15 without clarifying whether it's a genuine headphone output with published power specs or a trigger/control-only port — we don't market this as a headphone amplifier until FiiO confirms that directly. Similarly, Roon Ready certification is listed by FiiO as still in progress at the time of writing, so treat Roon support as functional today but not yet formally certified.

Why the FiiO S15 Stands Out
Flagship AK4191 + AK4499EX DAC Combination
Uses the same DAC architecture as FiiO's Q15, K9 AKM, and M23, in an all-in-one streaming platform.
7.84-Inch Android 12 Touchscreen
A large, automotive-grade color touchscreen runs a custom FiiO Music interface with VU-meter visualization.
Balanced XLR and Full Digital I/O
Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs, plus optical, coaxial, AES, and HDMI digital connections, cover both direct-to-speaker and feed-an-external-DAC use cases.
Broad Streaming Protocol Support
AirPlay, DLNA/UPnP, Wi-Fi file transfer, and Roon (certification in progress), plus Bluetooth 5.1 reception with aptX Adaptive and LDAC.
Up to DSD512 and 768kHz/32-Bit via USB
Doubles as a USB DAC for a computer, decoding up to 768kHz/32-bit PCM and native DSD512.
Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- The All-In-One System Builder: wants a single unit that handles network streaming, local file playback, and DAC duties instead of stacking separate boxes.
- The Roon Household: wants a network streamer built to work with Roon alongside AirPlay and DLNA.
- The AV Integrator: wants a streamer with HDMI, AES, and balanced XLR outputs to bridge into an existing amplifier or AV system.
How It Compares
The S15 is FiiO's full-size flagship streamer, distinct from the more compact SR11, which is a pure digital transport with no analog outputs or DAC of its own and needs to be paired with an external decoder. The S15 does that DAC and preamp work itself, in a larger, full-featured chassis.
