Sony HT-A7000 Soundbar - 7.1.2-Channel Dolby Atmos® with 360 Spatial Sound
Overview
The Sony HT-A7000 is a 7.1.2-channel soundbar built for a wider surround field than Sony's smaller A-series bars. Two up-firing drivers bounce sound off your ceiling for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height effects, while two beam tweeters send sound bouncing off your side walls — combined with five front speakers for a noticeably wider front soundstage than a 3- or 5-speaker bar.
A built-in dual subwoofer inside the bar handles bass on its own, so there's no separate subwoofer box to place or wire in from day one. When you're ready to add more, Sony's SA-RS3S or SA-RS5 wireless rear speakers and SA-SW3 or SA-SW5 wireless subwoofers connect to the same system and expand it into full 360 Spatial Sound Mapping.
Two HDMI inputs plus an HDMI eARC output pass through 4K at up to 120Hz and 8K video, along with HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision, so a games console and a 4K streaming box can both run through the soundbar to your TV at the same time. Sound Field Optimization uses the soundbar's built-in microphones to measure your room and calibrate the sound automatically during setup.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
For anyone who's outgrown a smaller soundbar or wants the widest front soundstage in Sony's A-series lineup before stepping up to a full quad system, the HT-A7000 gets you there with five front speakers, two beam tweeters, and physical height channels in one bar — and because the rear speakers and subwoofer are sold separately as genuine add-ons, it's an easy system to build out over time.

Why the Sony HT-A7000 Stands Out
True 7.1.2-Channel Speaker Layout
Five front speakers, two beam tweeters, two up-firing drivers, and a built-in dual subwoofer work together for a wide, genuine 7.1.2-channel surround field without extra speaker boxes to place around the room.
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Support
The HT-A7000 decodes both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X directly, so height and object-based surround effects come through on supported movies, shows, and games without any extra processing box.
Dual HDMI Inputs with 8K-Ready Pass-Through
Two HDMI inputs plus an eARC output all pass through 4K at up to 120Hz and full 8K resolution, along with HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision, so a games console and a 4K streaming box can both stay connected at the same time.
500W of Total Power
Five front speakers, dual up-firing drivers, beam tweeters, and a built-in dual subwoofer are driven by 500W of total power for room-filling volume without distortion.
Sound Field Optimization
Built-in microphones in the soundbar measure your room during setup and calibrate the sound automatically, whether you're running the bar on its own or with optional rear speakers added.
Expandable with Real Sony Accessories
Add Sony's SA-RS3S or SA-RS5 wireless rear speakers and an SA-SW3 or SA-SW5 wireless subwoofer whenever you're ready, and the HT-A7000 grows into a full 360 Spatial Sound Mapping system without replacing the soundbar itself.
BRAVIA Acoustic Center Sync
Paired with a compatible Sony BRAVIA TV, Acoustic Center Sync lets the TV's own speaker join in as a centre channel, keeping dialogue locked to what's happening on screen.
Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- Homeowners wanting the widest A-series soundstage: five front speakers and beam tweeters give a wider front sound field than Sony's smaller soundbars, without a full receiver and speaker setup.
- Sony BRAVIA TV owners: Acoustic Center Sync and an integrated on-screen UI make setup and everyday control simpler when paired with a compatible BRAVIA TV.
- Buyers connecting multiple 4K/8K sources: two HDMI inputs mean a games console and a streaming box can both stay connected to the soundbar at once.
How It Compares
The Sony HT-A5000 is a more compact 5.1.2-channel soundbar with three front speakers instead of five, and a single HDMI input rather than two. The HT-A7000 adds two more front speakers for a wider front soundstage and a second HDMI input, making it a better fit for a room with more than one 4K or 8K source connected at once.
