Audeze LCD Carbon Fiber Headband - Genuine Leather

Overview

The Audeze LCD Carbon Fiber Headband is a genuine leather and carbon fibre replacement headband built for Audeze's LCD-series headphones, using the same floating design originally introduced on the LCD-4. It swaps the stock steel suspension band for a lighter carbon fibre frame, changing how the headphone sits and flexes on your head. It's compatible with all Audeze LCD-series headphones except the LCD-5s and LCD-1, which use their own dedicated headband design.

At 60g, the carbon fibre frame is noticeably lighter than Audeze's stock steel headband, and the genuine leather strap matches the material and finish used on Audeze's flagship LCD-4.

Every headband ships with a full instruction sheet and the simple tools needed to make the swap yourself, no soldering or special equipment required.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

A headband swap is a straightforward, tool-included project for LCD owners after a lighter feel than the stock steel band gives you. It won't change the sound, but it can meaningfully change comfort over long listening sessions. Confirm your exact headphone model before ordering, and hold onto your original headband's serial number sticker in case you need it for warranty service.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • Weight-conscious listeners looking to shave weight off long-session headphones.
  • LCD-4 style seekers who want the same headband feel as Audeze's flagship.
  • Owners refreshing a stock headband that's stretched or worn out.

How It Compares

The carbon fibre frame doesn't bend to reshape clamping force, so it suits owners who already know how their headphone fits and just want a lighter alternative. If you'd rather keep that adjustability while replacing the stock band, Audeze's Spring Steel Suspension Headband is a bendable alternative available in both leather and leather-free versions.

Audeze LCD Carbon Fiber Headband - Genuine Leather FAQs

Will this headband fit my Audeze LCD-X?

Yes. This headband fits all Audeze LCD-series headphones, including the LCD-X, LCD-XC, LCD-3, LCD-2, LCD-2 Classic, and LCD-MX4. It is not compatible with the LCD-5s or LCD-1, which use a different headband design.

Can I still adjust the fit with a carbon fibre headband?

Not in the same way as the stock steel headband. Carbon fibre doesn't bend to reshape clamping force, so fit depends more on your specific headphone's yoke depth. If you need more adjustability, the Spring Steel Suspension Headband is a better fit.

Is installation difficult?

No. Every headband ships with a full instruction sheet and the simple tools needed to make the swap yourself, no soldering or special equipment required.

What happens to the serial number sticker on my old headband?

Your headphone's serial number is located on the original headband. Audeze recommends peeling off the sticker and applying it to the new headband, or keeping the old one on hand in case you ever need warranty service.
