AudioQuest Pearl Toslink Fiber Optical Cable - 16.4 ft. (5m)

Overview

An optical cable is the simplest way to send digital audio from a TV, streamer, or game console to a soundbar, receiver, or DAC. The AudioQuest Pearl Optical is a Toslink fiber-optic digital audio cable made for soundbars, subwoofers, and a wide range of A/V components.

It uses a polished low-dispersion fibre to minimize timing errors, improve bandwidth, and optimize performance. When light disperses in a fibre it takes a longer path and arrives late, which can stop the receiving device from decoding the signal properly, so less dispersion means less distortion in the analog sound you finally hear.

Finely polished optical interfaces at each end and low-jitter design round out the cable, which fits most Toslink connectors.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Optical cables don't like tight bends, so route it with gentle curves behind your TV or rack. Available here in 5m.

Why the AudioQuest Pearl Optical Stands Out

Low-Dispersion Fibre

A low-dispersion fibre minimizes timing errors and improves bandwidth.

Finely Polished Optical Interface

Polished fibre ends help get light cleanly into and out of the cable.

Low Jitter

Designed to reduce timing errors in the digital signal.

Fits Most Toslink Connectors

A simple connection to soundbars, subwoofers, and A/V components.

Less Dispersion, Less Distortion

AudioQuest's goal: the less light dispersion in the fibre, the less distortion in the final analog signal.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • The Soundbar Owner: Connects a TV to a soundbar or receiver with an optical output.
  • The Digital Source User: Sends audio from a streamer, CD transport, or console to a DAC.
  • The Home Theatre Builder: Wants AudioQuest optical cables across an A/V system.

How It Compares

The AudioQuest Forest Optical steps up to a low-dispersion, high-purity fibre and adds a 3.5mm mini-adaptor, and the Cinnamon Optical moves to AudioQuest's lowest-dispersion, highest-purity fibre in this group.

AudioQuest Pearl Toslink Fiber Optical Cable - 16.4 ft. (5m) FAQs

What is the AudioQuest Pearl Optical used for?

It carries digital audio over Toslink between components such as a TV, soundbar, subwoofer, receiver, streamer, or DAC.

Why does fibre quality matter?

Light that disperses inside the fibre takes a longer path and arrives late, which can stop the receiving device from decoding the signal properly. Less dispersion means less distortion in the final analog sound.

Does it fit standard optical ports?

Yes. It uses Toslink connectors and fits most Toslink sockets.

How should I route an optical cable?

Use gentle curves rather than sharp bends, and avoid pinching the cable behind furniture or wall-mounted equipment.
