Klipsch RP-500C MKII Reference Premiere Center Channel Speaker
Overview
Most centre channels sound fine on a quiet dialogue scene and fall apart the moment a movie gets loud, losing clarity right when you need it most. The Klipsch RP-500C II is built to hold its composure at any volume.
The RP-500C II pairs a 1" titanium Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeter with a larger 90° x 90° silicone composite hybrid Tractrix horn for crisp, controlled highs, and dual 5.25" Cerametallic woofers, updated with a refined motor structure for lower distortion and better control. A Tractrix-geometry rear-firing port moves air quickly and quietly for punchier, cleaner bass.
Additional internal bracing minimizes cabinet resonance, and the input panel uses audiophile-grade wire with aluminum binding posts. Cork pads replace rubber bumpers for secure, vibration-damped placement on a shelf or media console, and the magnetic grille attaches cleanly for either a bold or discreet look.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
For Central Ontario clients working with a standard media console, the RP-500C II hits the size and performance balance most home theatres actually need — it shares the same driver technology as the larger RP-504C II but in a shorter cabinet, so it fits where the flagship centre channel won't.

Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- The Space-Conscious Theatre Builder: wants Reference Premiere performance in a manageable cabinet height.
- The Dialogue-Focused Viewer: stepping up from a soundbar and wants voices to stay clear at any volume.
- The Reference Premiere System Owner: wants a tonal match for RP-series towers and bookshelf speakers.
How It Compares
The RP-500C II is Klipsch's most popular mid-sized Reference Premiere centre channel. For a larger room and more output, the quad-woofer RP-504C II is the flagship choice; for an especially shallow console or wall placement, the sealed-cabinet RP-404C II is the space-saving alternative.
