Overview
A compact stereo pair that skips the receiver entirely makes it a lot easier to get real sound into a home office, bedroom, or apartment. The KIN Play Mini is an active-plus-passive speaker pair built to do exactly that, with all the amplification built into one cabinet.
The KIN Play Mini pairs a 4" Natural Hybrid woofer with a 1" metal alloy dome tweeter in each speaker, powered by a built-in 2 x 70W RMS amplifier with a high-resolution internal DAC, covering a 60Hz-20kHz frequency range. No external amplifier is required — just connect a source and power it on.
Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD handles wireless streaming, while a switchable Phono/Line Level RCA input, a 3.5mm mini jack, and an Optical digital input (24-bit/192kHz) cover wired sources like a turntable, TV, or computer. A subwoofer output and an AMP IN bypass input for connecting an external Wi-Fi streamer round out the connections, and a remote control is included.

The AMP IN bypass input means a Wi-Fi streamer can be added to the Play Mini later without buying a separate amplifier — the same trick we use with the standalone KIN Amp — which is useful if a multi-room setup isn't part of the plan on day one.
