The RX-V6A is the top of Yamaha's RX-V lineup, adding Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding plus full YPAO Multipoint calibration to the 7.2-channel layout that Simcoe most often recommends for a proper home theatre.
The RX-V6A is a 7.2-channel AV receiver rated at 100W per channel (8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, two channels driven), decoding Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization for rooms without ceiling speakers. Virtual Presence Speaker and Virtual Surround Back Speaker processing extend the soundstage further, and a dedicated phono input handles turntables directly.
Video passes through 7 HDMI inputs and 1 output supporting 4K120, 8K60, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, with ALLM and VRR for gaming and eARC for a single-cable TV hookup. YPAO Multipoint calibration measures your room from several positions to balance the system automatically, and Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and MusicCast Surround cover streaming and multi-room audio.
