Just a simple, mechanical trigger that lifts the tonearm when positioned properly. Nothing to plug in, nothing to recharge. Dialing it in can be a little tricky since not all run-out grooves are the same, but I have it adjusted now to work with probably 95% of my records. Q Up provides helpful videos to get it set up, and it comes with a couple of mounting options as well as height and pressure adjustments. If your turntable has room, I recommend using the height adjustment clip since that also gives you some forward/back movement until you get it placed juuuust right. I'm using it on a U-Turn Orbit Plus 1G _without_ a cue lever. I'm often playing LPs while working, and I can't always stop what I'm doing just because a side has finished. This little gadget is saving miles of wear on my stylus.

Because of the small gap between the record and tonearm on my pro-ject debut carbon evo, a "fancy" tonearm lifter just wouldn't fit. Because of its rectangular shape, this one fit perfectly.I couldn't use the height adjustment piece either, I had to mount only the unit to the deck. It was not level, so I had to sand it flat.Works good. Minus 1 star for price to build quality ratio, and the ugly logo.
