JVC D-ILA Projector - DLA-RS4200

Overview

The JVC DLA-RS4200 is a native 4K D-ILA home theatre projector and the brightest model in JVC's current D-ILA lineup, with Gen2 8K/e-shiftX, a 3,300-lumen BLU-Escent laser and 150,000:1 native contrast. It's built around three third-generation 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA devices and a large 100 mm all-glass lens that can fill screens up to 300 inches. It's for dedicated home theatres where you want the deepest blacks, high brightness and wide installation flexibility.

8K/e-shiftX shifts the image to display an 8192 x 4320 picture from the native 4K devices, and accepts 8K60p and 4K120p signals through two 48 Gbps HDMI inputs. The BLU-Escent laser is rated for about 20,000 hours, and dynamic laser control can shut the light off completely in black scenes for infinite dynamic contrast. HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG are supported, with Frame Adapt HDR, Theater Optimizer, Deep Black Tone Control and the Frame Adapt HDR Vivid mode added in JVC's October 2025 firmware.

The all-glass 100 mm lens (18 elements in 16 groups, in a full aluminium barrel) offers 2x motorized zoom with ±100% vertical and ±43% horizontal lens shift. Auto Low Latency Mode switches automatically for compatible game consoles, FILMMAKER MODE keeps movies true to the grade, and 3D is supported with optional glasses and emitter. Ten Installation Mode memories, trigger out, RS-232, LAN and Control4 SDDP make it straightforward to integrate into a controlled theatre.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

The RS4200's 2x zoom (1.35 to 2.75:1 throw) and ±100% vertical lens shift give a lot of freedom in where it can sit, which matters in rooms where the projector has to go on a rear shelf or high on the ceiling, and its 300-inch maximum image size suits very large screens. Two inputs at 48 Gbps mean a gaming console and a media player can both run at 4K120 or 8K60 without a separate switcher. At 55.7 lb, plan a properly rated mount. If you're within our Central Ontario service area, our custom install team can help plan screen size, throw distance and calibration before you order.
