Overview
The Bowers & Wilkins DB2D is a high-performance subwoofer in the DB Series, using the same 10-inch Aerofoil cone drivers found in the 800 Series Diamond speakers alongside a 1000-watt Class D Hypex amplifier. Two drivers are arranged back-to-back in a balanced configuration inside a rigid cabinet, giving it deep, agile bass whether it's supporting a home theatre or a two-channel system.
Because the two drivers face opposite directions, their mechanical forces cancel each other out, so the amplifier's output goes into moving air instead of shaking the cabinet. That balanced layout, combined with the rigid enclosure, is what lets the DB2D deliver serious low-frequency output from a relatively compact footprint.
Setup runs through a dedicated Bowers & Wilkins app for iOS and Android that includes a Room EQ system requiring no separate microphone kit, plus Dynamic EQ that keeps the tonal balance consistent at any volume. On the back panel, dual XLR and RCA inputs, twin 12V triggers, and an RS-232 port make it easy to wire into either a stereo system or a custom control setup.
