Bowers & Wilkins ASW610 10" Subwoofer - (Each)
Overview
The Bowers & Wilkins ASW610 is the mid-point in the 600 Series subwoofer lineup, stepping up from the ASW608 with a long-throw 10-inch (250mm) paper/aramid fibre driver and the same 200-watt ICEpower® amplifier platform. The larger driver moves more air, giving it a deeper on-axis response down to 27Hz while keeping the compact, sealed cabinet that defines the ASW range.
Like the rest of the 600 Series subs, the ASW610 uses a sealed (acoustic suspension) enclosure rather than a ported one, favouring tight, controlled bass over maximum output. A rear-panel Bass Extension switch offers three roll-off points (-6dB at 20Hz, 25Hz, or 30Hz), and an active 4th-order low-pass filter with adjustable cutoff and bypass makes it straightforward to integrate with a stereo system or hand bass management to an AV receiver.
Independent RCA line-level and speaker-level binding post inputs, each with its own volume control, let the ASW610 connect to a two-channel preamp or a receiver's speaker outputs, and a 12V trigger input and auto sense circuit bring it in and out of a 0.5-watt standby state automatically.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
For mid-sized living rooms, media rooms, and dedicated theatre spaces across Central Ontario, the ASW610 gives you a genuine step up in low-frequency extension over the ASW608 without moving to a much larger cabinet. Because it's still a sealed design, you get that deeper 27Hz reach without the loose, boomy character that a ported subwoofer of similar size can introduce. The 3-position Bass Extension switch lets our installers tune the roll-off point to the room, which matters more in a bigger, more open space where a fixed setting can end up either underwhelming or overwhelming.

Why the ASW610 Stands Out
10-Inch Paper/Aramid Fibre Driver
A long-throw 250mm driver built from a paper and aramid fibre cone, sized to move more air than the ASW608 for deeper extension.
200W ICEpower® Amplifier
An efficient 200-watt ICEpower amplifier drives the subwoofer, with rated power consumption of 40W in use and just 0.5W in standby.
Sealed Acoustic Suspension Enclosure
A closed-box design that favours tight, accurate bass over the higher maximum output of a ported cabinet.
3-Position Bass Extension Switch
Selects a -6dB roll-off point of 20Hz, 25Hz, or 30Hz, letting you tune the low end to your room.
Active 4th-Order Low-Pass Filter
A variable-frequency crossover with a bypass option, so it can integrate with a stereo system or hand off bass management to an AV receiver.
Independent Line & Speaker-Level Inputs
Separate RCA line-in and speaker-level binding post connections, each with its own volume control, plus a 12V trigger input.
Auto Sense Standby
Drops to a 0.5W standby state when no signal is present and wakes automatically once audio resumes.
Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- Mid-sized home theatre rooms: Spaces that need more low-frequency output than a compact subwoofer can deliver.
- Two-channel music listeners: A strong match for larger stand-mount or floorstanding speakers like the 606 S3 or 607 S3.
- Multi-subwoofer setups: Well suited to running as a matched pair to smooth out bass response across a larger room.
How It Compares
The ASW610 and the more compact Bowers & Wilkins ASW608 share the same 200W ICEpower amplifier platform and control layout, but the ASW610's larger 250mm (10-inch) driver and cabinet give it a deeper 27Hz on-axis response versus the ASW608's 32Hz. If your room is smaller or floor space is tight, the ASW608 is the better fit; for a mid-sized or larger room, the ASW610 has more low-end reach to work with.
