Klipsch RP-5000F MKII Reference Premiere Floor Standing Speaker

Overview

A serious floorstanding tower needs to fill a room with clean, controlled sound at real volume, not just look the part, and that's where a lot of speakers in this size class start to struggle. The Klipsch RP-5000F II is built to actually deliver.

The RP-5000F II pairs a 1" titanium Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeter with a hybrid Tractrix horn for crisp, detailed highs, and dual 5.25" Cerametallic woofers for tight bass and a clear midrange. A 2.5-way passive design and rear-firing Tractrix ports extend low-frequency response down to 40Hz.

The reinforced MDF cabinet with internal bracing keeps resonance low, and dual binding posts support bi-wiring or bi-amping for those who want to push the system further. A magnetic cloth grille and pre-installed aluminum feet round out the design, finished in ebony or walnut vinyl.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

For Central Ontario clients building a full Reference Premiere Atmos system, the RP-5000F II is designed to accept the RP-500SA II elevation speaker on top for height channels, so you can start with a strong stereo or 5.1 front stage and add Atmos later without replacing the towers.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • The Large-Room Listener: wants a full-range tower with real scale for movies and music.
  • The Reference Premiere System Builder: wants a tonal match for RP-series centre and surround speakers.
  • The Future Atmos Adopter: wants a tower that's ready for height speakers when the budget allows.

How It Compares

The RP-5000F II is the entry point into Klipsch's Reference Premiere floorstanding lineup, built around dual 5.25" woofers. For more scale and deeper bass, the RP-6000F II steps up to a single larger woofer, and the RP-8000F II tops the line with dual 8" woofers for the biggest rooms and the highest output.
