Overview
Getting into vinyl usually means buying a turntable, then realizing you also need a separate phono preamp, then figuring out how it's all supposed to connect to speakers that were never built with a turntable in mind. Kanto built the OBI3 to skip those extra purchases.
The OBI3 is a belt-drive turntable that ships with a factory-installed Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge, a built-in switchable phono preamp, and both Bluetooth 5.3 and RCA outputs, so it works with powered speakers, a receiver, or a full amplifier whether or not that gear has its own phono input. A weighted aluminum platter and engineered wood plinth keep the turntable stable during playback, while a J-shaped aluminum tonearm with a manual cue lever handles getting a record started.
The OBI3 plays standard 33⅓ and 45 RPM records and adds a ±10% pitch control for fine-tuning playback speed, though its antiskate and counterweight settings are fixed rather than user-adjustable. It ships ready to use, with a dustcover, felt slip mat, 45 RPM adapter, and ground cable all included.
