These make my large, older bookshelf sound old on the higher tweeter to the mid-area. The base sounds good, but get a sub if you need that deeper sound. They are currently being used as my side surround speakers and fit well with the four P3 speakers I'm using for height-atmos effects.
I have these speakers on my desk and use them almost daily. They sound fantastic. I have them paired with the NAD 3020.
These hit way above their head. I got them on sale for 299 and they are absolutely worth it. Not the greatest build quality, but Audiophile sound for sure. Will buy PSB again in a heartbeat!
These speakers are really incredible. I used a bluesound power-node to power them. Using in my living room to replace a Samsung sound bar and subwoffer, and it's mind blowing how great they sound. The sound quality is truly impressive, I thought I would need to add a subwoffer but it's not necessary. I Highly recommend these speakers, especially when paired with a quality source to power them.
First the build quality is excellent with well finished wood grain vinyl wrap and the metal material magnetic grill is really impressive. It has a premium feel, very nice looking speakers.I must say that it surprised me with the sound quality produced from this compact size speaker.It just makes me wanting to listen to more songs which has not happened to me with other speakers, the sound is just well balanced for treble - midrange - bass.Treble is clean and transparent, mid-range is clean and natural, bass is well controlled and balanced.The bass is outstanding not that it would give you a ton of punch but it is just the right amount of low frequency respond that you feel nice overall balanced sound. It is impressive to have the type of bass for the size compare to some of the similar driver’s size speaker.Near field listening is excellent, I enjoy listening, l can listen to it all day without getting fatigue.PSB Alpha P5 is really value for the money, highly recommended if you are looking for a good pair of bookshelf speaker for your small room.
