This is a great headphone. And the included 1/4" jack cable is a great sounding cable. This will be end game for nearly everyone.

I bought this as an upgrade over my HD6xx .Comfort is a big factor to consider when buying a new headset and this one is pretty comfy. It feels weightless when wearing it. One thing which is only a little bit annoying is that you can take them off and hang them on your neck, but it feels like its choking . The cans do rotate so they can lay flat on my chest if i decide to take them off a bit and hang them on my neckAudio quality is great. I don't know the technical terms but i do hear more instruments and sound stage feels bigger which is better imoMy only reason for not giving this a 5 star is because of the included cable. It's so thick and stiff, looks ugly and is too short. I had to replace it and buy a 3rd party custom cable

This is just an incredible headphone. Soundstage is mindblowing. Instrument separation, bass is just perfect. The only drawback of these - some bad records that you have will sound meh on these. I found only few, but what can you do. These headphones reveal everything in the music.Regarding the fit - they are SUPER COMFY. I can sit in them all day not feeling any fatigue. However, the first day I wore them i felt a pressure on my jaw (something i saw some other people noting). What you do is you either let them break in for couple days or you grab the band by opoosite ends and gently unbend it. After that this feeling of pressure was gone, just a pair of clouds on your head. Also i had a chance to compare them with Meze 109 Pro.... Saw a lot of debates regarding who's better. My take on this after 3 hour long back to back session - 109 Pro don't even hold a candle to these cans. Soundstage is a joke compared to Aryas. Also 109 can sound boomier in everything, until you get to records which supposed to have a punchy bass, and then Aryas leave them in the dust. As for the highs - Aryas can perfectly represent the highs, without sounding screechy or losing any information. 109 just fall apart (literally they can't take on the highs past a certain point).

I made a jump from Sennheiser 660 to these and amazed once again what people can do with audio headphones. This is a significant overall increase in sound clarity, space, instrument separation and even just enough added oomph! with the bass that I felt my Sennheiser's were missing. I'm not in anyway a basshead, although I previously purchased a small Schiit EQ for more bass for the Sennheiser 660, but now feel that was money wasted. I don't feel these Hifiman need any adjustments at all and just sound perfect on their own. I listen to mostly rock music, but also like Enya, film scores, classical, electronic, metal and industrial...all of which sound wonderful.Currently on sale or clearance, maybe to make room for the new Organic Arya, I got for around $900 which I feel is a fair price for the upgrade from the Sennheiser's. Also make sure you get from the Hifiman store directly. Originally I was looking to purchase Sennheiser HD800s from Amazon, but they came from a 3rd party seller and looked suspiciously refurbished to me or at the very least a previous return. The Hifiman came very much sealed and untouched straight from the manufacturer.

I’m using this headphone with a moji2 dac and a siit jotemheim amp . The sound is excellent the best I have ever heard and I have had many headphones. The sound stage is wide , lows are not boomy and the highs are not shrill .I think the best way to describe the sound is natural or real .The only negative thing is you will need a new headphone cable ( I just use copper ) . Also I find the headphone keeps wanting to move forward on my head . No sound isolation so be prepared for that .

HiFiMan Arya Full Size Over Ear Planar Magnetic Audiophile Adjustable Headphone FAQs

How does the HiFiMan Arya compare to other planar magnetic headphones?

The HiFiMan Arya stands out for its balanced and transparent sound, with exceptional clarity across highs, mids, and bass. It competes favorably with models like the Audeze LCD-X, particularly in terms of soundstage and imaging. The Arya offers a more natural, open feel, but it may lack the power and punch that some prefer in bass-heavy tracks.

Are the HiFiMan Arya headphones comfortable for long listening sessions?

The Arya is relatively comfortable for long sessions due to its large, soft ear cups and adjustable headband. However, it can be heavy, which may cause some discomfort during extended listening. The clamping force is also quite light, which works well for most, but may result in some instability during movement.

What type of music suits the HiFiMan Arya headphones the best?

The HiFiMan Arya is best suited for classical, jazz, and acoustic genres due to its detailed high frequencies and wide soundstage. While it handles electronic and rock well, it might not have the deep bass response required by bass-heavy genres like hip-hop or EDM. Its planar drivers excel in producing subtle nuances and overall detail in mid and high-range frequencies.

Can the HiFiMan Arya be used with portable devices?

While the Arya can technically be used with portable devices, it is not ideal due to its high power requirements. It performs best with a dedicated headphone amplifier to drive the planar magnetic drivers efficiently. Using it with low-powered devices like smartphones or laptops may result in lower sound quality and volume output.
