Dual CS 429 Fully Automatic Turntable with Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge
Overview
The Dual CS 429 is a fully automatic hi-fi turntable that pairs one-button convenience with the flexibility of an adjustable tonearm. Place a record, press start, and the tonearm moves to the first groove, plays, and returns on its own. It comes with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge already mounted on a removable headshell.
Unlike plug-and-play models, the CS 429's tonearm has adjustable tracking force (0 to 4g) and spring-loaded anti-skating, and it accepts cartridges from 5 to 9g, so you can fine-tune the setup or change cartridges later. Vibration dampers in the subchassis decouple the tonearm and platter from outside vibration, and a regulated DC motor with optical speed control drives the aluminium die-cast platter through a precision-cut belt for wow and flutter below ±0.08%.
It plays 33, 45, and 78 rpm records, and a built-in phono preamp with a PHONO/LINE switch lets you connect to a phono input or a line input on an amplifier, receiver, or powered speakers. The folded MDF plinth sits on elastomer feet with vibration absorbers, and a removable dust cover is included.

Out of the box, set the tracking force and anti-skating to suit the 2M Red as described in the manual, then choose PHONO or LINE depending on whether your amplifier has its own phono input. When the stylus wears, the replacement is the Ortofon Stylus 2M Red.
