Dual CS 329 Fully Automatic Turntable with Built-In Preamp
Overview
The Dual CS 329 is a fully automatic, belt-drive plug-and-play turntable that Dual recommends as the ideal starting point for anyone new to vinyl. It arrives as a pre-assembled package with an Audio-Technica AT91 cartridge already fitted and every adjustment set at the factory, so you can plug it in and start playing right away.
Operation is as simple as it gets: place a record, press start, and the tonearm swivels, lowers, and lifts automatically at the end of the side. You can also play records manually if you prefer. A built-in phono preamp with a PHONO/LINE switch on the back lets you connect to a phono input on an amplifier, or to a line input on powered speakers or a receiver without a phono stage.
Dual pairs a DC motor and precision-cut belt, mounted on rubber for vibration decoupling, with an aluminium die-cast platter and a heavy 2.5mm rubber mat for resonance damping. The plinth sits on elastomer feet with built-in vibration absorbers, and a removable dust cover keeps dust off your records and stylus.

The CS 329 is the turntable we point people to when they want vinyl without a learning curve. Because tracking force and anti-skate are fixed at the factory, there's nothing to set up beyond fitting the platter, belt, and dust cover. If your amplifier or powered speakers don't have a phono input, leave the switch on LINE; if they do, set it to PHONO and use the amplifier's phono stage instead. When the stylus eventually wears, the replacement is the Audio-Technica ATN91.
