Overview
The Bryston 4B Cubed (4B³) is a true dual-mono, two-channel power amplifier rated at 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms and upwards of 500 watts into 4 ohms. Bryston calls the 4B one of the legends of audiophile lore, and says it is powerful enough for practically any speaker.
The 4B has been manufactured continuously since 1978, refined along the way, and Bryston says the current version is its sixth generation. Each channel has a fully independent power supply, including its own transformer, and the patented Salomie circuit used in all Cubed Series amplifiers holds distortion under 0.005% (THD+N, 20Hz to 20kHz at rated power).
Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs, switchable 23dB or 29dB gain, and a DC trigger make it easy to integrate. It's fully convection cooled with no fans, draws under 500mW in standby, and uses a microprocessor-controlled SoftStart sequence that won't trip circuit breakers.

The 4B³ is the middle ground of the Cubed range: more power than the 3B³ for larger speakers and rooms, in a 6.3-inch-tall chassis that is far easier to place than the 14B³ or a pair of monoblocks. Bryston also offers it with a 19-inch faceplate with front handles, or as a PRO version with a black rack-mount panel and rear channel trims, which suits equipment racks in dedicated rooms.
