Overview
The Bryston 14B Cubed (14B³) is a two-channel power amplifier with the kind of output Bryston says is usually only found in monoblocks: 600 watts per channel into 8 ohms and up to 900 watts into 4 ohms. Bryston describes it as big and heavy, and at 41 kg it is, but it's built to drive any loudspeaker with agility and speed.
Each channel has a fully independent power supply, including its own transformer, so the two sides of the amplifier work as separate units in one chassis. Like every Cubed Series amplifier, it uses Bryston's patented Salomie input circuit, and Bryston rates distortion at under 0.005% (THD+N, 20Hz to 20kHz at rated power) with a bandwidth extending from below 1Hz to 100kHz.
Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs, switchable 23dB or 29dB gain, and a DC trigger make it easy to fit into a system. It's fully convection cooled, so there are no fans, and a microprocessor-controlled SoftStart sequence brings it up without tripping circuit breakers.
