Bowers & Wilkins ASW608 8" Subwoofer - (Each)

Overview

The Bowers & Wilkins ASW608 is the most compact subwoofer in B&W's ASW Series, built for big sound in smaller spaces. It pairs an 8-inch paper/aramid fibre long-throw driver with a 200W ICEpower amplifier in a closed-box cabinet.

B&W designed the 8-inch driver for fast, tight, and dramatic bass, even in very small rooms. A three-position bass extension switch sets the low-frequency roll-off (-6dB at 23Hz, 28Hz, or 36Hz), and an active 4th-order low-pass filter with variable cut-off, plus a bypass for use with an AV receiver's bass management, helps it blend with your main speakers.

It connects through stereo RCA line inputs or speaker-level binding posts, each with its own volume control, and adds a 12V trigger input and a phase switch. Auto sense wakes it from a 0.5W standby when a signal arrives.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Start with B&W's suggested settings: volume at nine o'clock, EQ at position A, and phase at 0 degrees, then adjust the low-pass frequency to suit your main speakers. If you are connecting to an AV receiver, use the line input and switch the low-pass filter out so the receiver handles the crossover.
