Bluesound VAULT 2i High-Res 2TB Network Hard Drive CD Ripper and Streamer
Overview
A CD collection sitting on a shelf is music you rarely play. The Bluesound VAULT 2i lets you rip your CDs in bit-perfect, high-resolution formats or copy your existing library onto its 2TB internal hard drive, then stream it throughout your home.
Connect it to your sound system or powered speakers, or stream to other Bluesound players. Rips can be saved as FLAC, MP3 (320kbps), or WAV, and it plays files up to 24-bit/192kHz including MQA through its 32-bit/192kHz DAC.
It also streams music services through the BluOS app, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Roon Ready, with two-way Bluetooth aptX HD. USB ports back up and restore your library, and outputs include analog RCA, coaxial, optical, a headphone jack, a subwoofer output, and a 12V trigger.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
Rip to FLAC if you want lossless files that keep album art and tags, and use the USB backup feature once your collection is ripped. Bluesound notes the VAULT 2i connects to a wired home network for streaming, so plan an Ethernet run to it.

Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- The CD Collector: Wants every disc ripped and playable without a computer.
- The Multi-Room Listener: Wants a central music library for Bluesound players around the home.
- The Hi-Fi Owner: Wants a streamer and ripper connected straight to an existing system.
How It Compares
The VAULT 2i combines a CD ripper, 2TB music server, and streamer in one box. If you only need streaming without ripping or storage, a NODE streamer is the simpler option.
