Bluesound Node the Original Hi-Res Music Streamer (2024)
Overview
A stereo system you already love can stream just as well as a new one with the right source. The Bluesound NODE is a wireless hi-res music streamer that connects to your amplifier or powered speakers and streams music, radio, and podcasts from 23+ services or your own library through the BluOS Controller app.
It uses an ESS ES9039Q2M SABRE DAC, plays up to 24-bit/192kHz with DSD256 and MQA support, and adds THX AAA headphone amplifier technology with a full-size 1/4-inch headphone output. HDMI eARC with Dolby Digital decoding lets it handle TV sound, and it is Dirac Live Room Correction ready.
AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready are built in. Outputs include RCA, optical, coaxial, USB audio, and a subwoofer output, with HDMI eARC and optical/analog inputs, five touch presets with proximity-sensing controls, and multi-room grouping with other Bluesound players.
Simcoe Audio Video Insight
The NODE is the easiest way we know to add streaming to a good amplifier or receiver you already own. Connect it by HDMI eARC and your TV sound can play through the same system. Bluesound lists two-way aptX Adaptive Bluetooth (Bluetooth 5.2), with aptX Adaptive marked as available via a future software update.

Buyer's Guide
Who It's For
- The Hi-Fi Owner: Wants to add hi-res streaming to an existing amplifier or receiver.
- The TV and Music Listener: Wants TV sound and streaming through one stereo system over HDMI eARC.
- The Headphone Listener: Wants a THX AAA headphone output built into the streamer.
How It Compares
The NODE sits between the compact NODE NANO and the flagship NODE ICON. NANO keeps the same ESS DAC in a smaller USB-C powered box, while ICON adds dual-mono DACs, balanced XLR outputs, and a 5-inch colour display.
