AudioQuest Rocket 33 Full-Range Speaker Cable 3M

Overview

Speaker cable carries the full output of your amplifier to your speakers, and its conductors and geometry shape how much detail and dimension come through. The AudioQuest Rocket 33 Full-Range Speaker Cable is a pair of speaker cables, terminated here in 3m (10 ft) lengths with silver banana plugs at both ends.

It combines solid Perfect-Surface Copper and Long-Grain Copper conductors. Solid conductors prevent the electrical strand-to-strand interaction that is a major source of distortion, and AudioQuest says the smooth PSC surface nearly eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity. The conductors are arranged in Double Star-Quad geometry, which AudioQuest describes as superior to both parallel conductors and twisted pairs.

The negative conductors are covered with partially conductive Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene, part of a Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation System that reduces radio-frequency noise fed back into the amplifier. Air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene insulation absorbs very little energy, and the conductors are direction-controlled so induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Bananas make it easy to connect and disconnect, but check that your amplifier and speakers have binding posts that accept banana plugs. Keep both channels the same length even if one speaker is closer to the amp.

Why the AudioQuest Rocket 33 Speaker Cable Stands Out

Solid PSC and LGC Conductors

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper and Long-Grain Copper prevent strand interaction for a smoother, clearer sound.

Double Star-Quad Geometry

A conductor arrangement AudioQuest says beats both parallel conductors and twisted pairs for lower distortion.

Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation

Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene on the negative conductors reduces RF noise fed back into the amplifier.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

High air content and a benign distortion profile reduce the out-of-focus effect of other insulation.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

Conductors are oriented so induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.

Banana-Terminated Pair

Supplied as a 3m (10 ft) pair with silver banana plugs at both the amplifier and speaker ends.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • The Hi-Fi Owner: Wants a well-built speaker cable between an amplifier and a pair of speakers.
  • The Home Theatre Owner: Connects front speakers to an AV receiver or amplifier.
  • The Box-Cable Replacer: Is replacing generic zip cord with a terminated cable.

How It Compares

Rocket 33 sits in AudioQuest's Rocket speaker cable series alongside models such as Rocket 44 and Rocket 88, and it is also offered in single-biwire and single-biamp versions.
