Audioquest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable 2M

Overview

Bass is felt as much as heard, and a clean subwoofer connection helps the low end stay tight and integrated. The AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer is an RCA subwoofer cable (Male RCA to Male RCA) for connecting amplifiers, receivers, soundbars, and AV receivers to a powered subwoofer.

It uses solid 0.5% silver conductors to minimize distortion, with foamed-polyethylene insulation that preserves dynamic contrasts and Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation that absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the ground layer.

Hyperlitz Coax Geometry spirals a circle of eight negative conductors around a single, larger positive conductor, creating a large cross-sectional area with low resistance and minimal skin-effect drawbacks. Cold-welded, gold-plated terminations make the connection without solder.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Choose the shortest length that comfortably reaches between your components, leaving a little slack so the plugs are not under tension. Available here in 2m.

Why the AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer Stands Out

Solid 0.5% Silver Conductors

Solid conductors with 0.5% silver minimize distortion.

Hyperlitz Coax Geometry

Eight negative conductors spiral around one larger positive conductor for low resistance.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

Its high air content minimizes energy absorption to preserve dynamic contrasts.

Cold-Welded Gold-Plated Terminations

A solder-free connection made with a high-pressure process.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • The Home Theatre Owner: Connects an AV receiver or processor to a powered subwoofer.
  • The Soundbar Owner: Connects a subwoofer to a soundbar with an RCA sub output.
  • The Bass-Focused Listener: Wants a step up from entry-level subwoofer cables.

How It Compares

The AudioQuest Black Lab uses solid Long-Grain Copper conductors with Symmetrical Coax Geometry. Greyhound steps up to solid 0.5% silver conductors and Hyperlitz Coax Geometry.

Audioquest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable 2M FAQs

What is the AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer used for?

It is an RCA subwoofer cable (Male RCA to Male RCA) for connecting amplifiers, receivers, soundbars, and AV receivers to a powered subwoofer.

What conductors does it use?

Solid 0.5% silver conductors, which minimize distortion.

How does it handle noise?

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground, rather than draining it into the component's ground reference.

Are the connectors soldered?

No. AudioQuest uses cold-welded terminations, which create a solder-free connection.
