Audioquest Forest Digital Coax Cable
Overview
A coaxial digital connection carries the full digital signal from a CD transport, streamer, or TV to a DAC or receiver, and the cable between them still matters. The AudioQuest Forest Coax is a digital coax audio cable built to carry that signal with as little added noise and distortion as possible.
It uses solid 0.5% silver conductors. AudioQuest explains that digital signals travel almost entirely on the surface of a conductor, so silver on the outside of its Long-Grain Copper produces the greatest benefit, and solid conductors avoid the strand-to-strand interaction found in stranded wire.
Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground, nitrogen-injected Hard-Cell Foam insulation keeps the conductor geometry stable for a consistent impedance, and cold-welded, gold-plated terminations make the connection without solder.
