Audioquest DragonTail USB 2.0 Extender OTG Cable

Overview

A DragonFly DAC plugs straight into a USB-A port, which works well until the port sits in an awkward spot or a wide DAC housing crowds the port beside it. The AudioQuest DragonTail USB-A 2.0 Extender is a cable extender with a female USB-A socket on one end and a male USB-A plug on the other, giving the DragonFly a little room to sit away from the device.

AudioQuest describes it as a way to connect a USB-A output smartphone or computer to a DragonFly DAC. The DAC plugs into the extender's female socket, and the extender plugs into your computer or device.

It uses a 4-pin USB Type-A connector, which AudioQuest notes is there to promote reliable signal transfer, and it is compatible with PCs and other USB-A devices you already own.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

If a DragonFly crowds a neighbouring USB port on your laptop, a DragonTail extender gives it some clearance. Keep it with the DAC so it travels with you.
