Audioquest Big Sur Audio Interconnect RCA Male to RCA Male Cable

Overview

Replacing a basic interconnect with a better one is one of the simplest changes you can make to a hi-fi system. The AudioQuest Big Sur RCA to RCA is an analog audio interconnect (2 x Male RCA to 2 x Male RCA) for connecting a CD player, streamer, DAC, phono preamp, or other source to an amplifier or receiver.

It uses solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, which prevent electrical and magnetic strand interaction and minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries. Foamed-polyethylene insulation, with its high air content, absorbs very little energy, and Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the ground layer.

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry separates the ground and shield for a richer, more dynamic sound, and cold-welded, gold-plated pure purple copper terminations make the connection without solder.

Simcoe Audio Video Insight

Choose the shortest length that comfortably reaches between your components, leaving a little slack so the plugs are not under tension. Available here in 0.6m, 1m, and 3m.

Why the AudioQuest Big Sur RCA to RCA Stands Out

Solid PSC+ Conductors

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and prevents strand interaction.

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

Its high air content minimizes energy absorption to preserve dynamic contrasts.

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry

Separates ground and shield for a relatively lower impedance on the ground and a cleaner, quieter sound.

Pure Purple Copper Terminations

Cold-welded, gold-plated pure purple copper plugs make a solder-free connection.

Buyer's Guide

Who It's For

  • The Hi-Fi Owner: Wants an RCA interconnect a clear step above entry-level cables.
  • The Turntable and DAC User: Connects phono preamps, DACs, and streamers to an amplifier.
  • The System Builder: Wants consistent AudioQuest cabling through a stereo system.

How It Compares

The AudioQuest Golden Gate uses solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) conductors with gold-plated terminations. Big Sur moves to PSC+ conductors and pure purple copper terminations with the same foamed-polyethylene insulation and Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation.

Audioquest Big Sur Audio Interconnect RCA Male to RCA Male Cable FAQs

What is the AudioQuest Big Sur RCA to RCA used for?

It is an analog audio interconnect (2 x Male RCA to 2 x Male RCA) for connecting a CD player, streamer, DAC, phono preamp, or other source to an amplifier or receiver.

What conductors does it use?

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, which prevent strand interaction and minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries.

How does it handle noise?

Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation absorbs and reflects most RF noise before it reaches the layer attached to ground, rather than draining it into the component's ground reference.

Are the connectors soldered?

No. AudioQuest uses cold-welded terminations, which create a solder-free connection.
