Audiolab DC Block 6 - Direct Current Blocker
Overview
If your amplifier hums or buzzes from the chassis even with nothing playing, the problem is often the power coming out of the wall, not the amplifier. The Audiolab DC Block 6 is a six-outlet mains filter and DC blocker that cleans up the power feeding your entire hi-fi or AV system.
Household mains often carries a small amount of DC, and Audiolab notes that less than 500mV, typical of an average home, can be enough to saturate the toroidal transformers found in many amplifiers. The DC Block 6 blocks DC offset on the mains line, up to 1.2V.
It also contains an audio-class filtering circuit that removes RFI/EMI contamination, reducing both differential-mode and common-mode noise from household appliances and wireless devices. Overload protection is built in, and six IEC cables are included to connect your components.
