Audiolab 7000A 70 Watt Integrated Amplifier with DAC and Phono MM
Overview
One amplifier can handle your turntable, CD player, computer, phone, and TV, and still have the power to drive a proper pair of speakers. The Audiolab 7000A is an integrated amplifier from Audiolab's 7000 Series with a built-in DAC, a moving magnet phono stage, Bluetooth aptX, and HDMI ARC.
Its discrete Class AB power amp delivers 70W per channel into 8 ohms and 110W into 4 ohms, with up to 11A of current for difficult speaker loads. The output stage uses a Complementary Feedback topology for linearity and thermal stability, and a 250VA toroidal transformer with 60,000µF of reservoir capacity helps it keep firm control of the music.
On the digital side, an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC with a Class A post-DAC filter, taken from learnings on the 9000A, handles the coaxial, optical, HDMI ARC, and Bluetooth inputs, plus a PC USB input that plays PCM up to 768kHz and native DSD512. A 2.8-inch colour IPS display shows settings and analog or digital VU meters.
